Terms of Use

Updated 2026-09-08

These are the ground rules for using this zine. They are short, they are honest, and they are written to be read by a human rather than skimmed by a lawyer. If we ever make them into a wall of fine print, that would be a betrayal of the whole point, so hold us to it.

What This Site Is

Molotov Mouthpiece is a news commentary and zine. It publishes reporting, analysis, and opinion on political, economic, and institutional topics. It is a publication, not a legal, financial, medical, or professional advice service. Nothing on this site is advice, and if you are in a situation where you need actual advice, get it from the person qualified to give it.

Content: Where It Comes From

All content on this site is derived from current social and political news that is publicly available. Our reporting is built from material that anyone can access: news coverage from other outlets, government and court filings, regulatory documents, official statements, public records, and publicly released material. We link to and cite our sources wherever possible, and we expect you to follow the links and check the underlying documents yourself.

Because the content is drawn from public news, it is a republication and commentary of material that is already in the public sphere. It is not original investigative reporting in the sense of a scoop obtained from an insider, and it is not a neutral summary. It is a selection and an argument about what the public record means. Read it with that understanding: we are telling you what we found and why we think it matters. The judgment of what to do with that is yours.

Accuracy and Corrections

We work hard to be accurate, but we are human and we publish fast. If we get something wrong, we will correct it and say we did. If you believe something is wrong, contact us through editor@molotovmouthpiece.com and we will review it. A correction is not a sign of failure. It is the system working.

Images and Satire

All images used on this site are intended to be satirical. Any image, illustration, graphic, or visual element we publish is created for commentary, parody, and criticism. They are not representations of real events, real people in real situations, or endorsements of anything. If an image looks like a real photograph, a real person, or a real document and it is not, that is the point. Satire does not owe you a disclaimer in the image itself, but it owes you this one, up top, so the intent is never in doubt.

Satire is protected expression, not a promise of factual accuracy in the visual. Do not treat a satirical image as evidence, as a news photograph, or as a statement that what it depicts actually happened the way it is drawn. We use it to make a point, not to record a fact.

Intellectual Property

The site's text, layout, design, and original graphics are the property of Molotov Mouthpiece. You may share links to articles freely. You may quote short excerpts with attribution for commentary or criticism. You may not republish our articles in full elsewhere, repurpose our original graphics as if they were your own, or hold out our name for a product or cause we have not endorsed.

Where we use material from third parties, we do so under fair use and fair dealing for commentary, criticism, and news reporting, with attribution. If you believe we have used your material in a way that is not covered, contact us and we will look at it and fix it if we have erred.

Your Responsibilities When You Comment

If you log in to comment, you are agreeing to keep the comment section usable. Concretely, you agree that you will not:

Comments are moderated. If a comment is reported, a moderator can review it, and we can hide or remove comments that break these rules. Repeated violations can lead to your comments being held for review or to a block. We do not ban people for being wrong or being angry at the subject. We ban people who make the place unusable for everyone else.

By posting a comment, you grant the site a non-exclusive license to display it on the site in connection with the article. You do not assign ownership of your words. They remain yours. We are displaying them, not owning them.

User Accounts

Your account is how we keep track of your comments and your preferences. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for the comments posted under it. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us. You may delete your account at any time, and we will remove your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, the content on this site. You use the zine at your own judgment, which is exactly how we intend it to be used.

Acceptable Use of the Service

You agree not to use the site to interfere with its normal operation. That means no attempts to gain unauthorized access to the site or its data, no scraping that attempts to disrupt or overload the service, and no attempts to probe or attack the server. If you are doing security research on us, please contact us first so it is coordinated rather than an incident we have to triage in the middle of the night.

Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the site is hosted, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If a dispute arises, we would far rather resolve it by talking than by litigation, and we will give you a real chance to do that before any formal step. The realistic dispute on a site like this is about a comment, a correction, or a takedown, and those are things we handle by correspondence, not by a courtroom.

Changes to These Terms

If we change these terms, we will update the "Updated" date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, we will post about it in the article feed so it is not hidden here where nobody reads. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Contact

Questions about these terms, fair-use concerns, takedown requests, or anything else can be sent to editor@molotovmouthpiece.com. We read what comes in and we respond to what we can.

These terms are the least exciting part of the site. Read them once, and then go read the actual zine.
